The Duplo DC-516 High Speed Creaser has the power to tackle manually intensive finishing tasks and bottlenecks in production. The ability to finish completely different jobs with efficiency and consistency, make it the ideal companion for demanding digital print environments.
Designed with flexibility to adapt to your needs, the DC-516 High Speed Creaser prevents toner cracking and unattractive fold lines on digitally printed applications up to 100 sheets per minute! Creasing prior to folding allows fold devices to bend the sheets with ease, ensuring a crisp and professional finish. The DC-516 features a 14” feed capacity for higher volume jobs and handles paper up to 400 gsm up to 14” x 26” in size. It comes standard with two dual creasing modules that can be switched interchangeably to perform positive and negative patterns at the same time. Each module applies up to 20 creases per sheet. Fast and easy to use, the DC-516 is ideal for creasing brochures, greeting cards and book covers for perfect binding.
High Capacity, Air Suction Feed System
With a 14” feed capacity, the largest in the DC series,
operators can maintain productivity throughout the
job. Utilizing Duplo’s widely renowned air suction
feeder, the DC-516 comes equipped with an 8-belt
feed system that feeds from the top of the stack to
reduce scuffing and marking on the sheets. It comes
with side air, an air knife, and an ultrasonic sensor
for increased feed consistency. The air knife reduces
static by providing additional air flow to the stack. The
ultrasonic sensor detects when two or more sheets
have been fed, automatically stopping the unit.
Jobs are managed from the user-friendly LCD touchscreen control panel where up to 250 jobs can be stored in memory. Operators can instantly recall any saved job to change over from one job to another and reduce downtime. Speed and precision allow digital printers to finish longer runs with minimal supervision.
Dual Creasing and Versatile Options
The DC-516 comes included with two dual creasing
modules with the capability to perform positive or
negative patterns. Up and down creasing is ideal
anytime paper stock is required to be folded in
different directions. Creasing on digital stock can
be difficult due to different variations in toners and
inks. Perfect bound covers with hinge, Z-folds and
accordion folds are perfect applications for the DC-516. To perform up and down creasing simultaneously
both modules must be used. The DC-516 features two
slots to accommodate both modules when needed.
To increase its versatility, other modules are available and can be used to perform a variety of finishing capabilities. These modules are optional and can be added to customize the device to suit your needs. The DC-516 can be used as a fast creasing machine, slitting and cutting machine, or perforating machine or switch between a combination of any two.
• Rotary Tool Module performs perforations, microperforations,
scores, slit-scores, and strike perforations across
the length of the sheets. Two rotary tools come standard.
Additional rotary tool can be purchased which includes four
different tools (perf, micro-perf, score, slit-score).
• Cross Perforation Module performs perforations across the width of the sheet. Cross Perforation uses a long perforation rule that extends the width of the sheet, which will need to be cut if partial perforation is required.
• Slitting Module performs up to 10 slits per sheet (6 slits come as standard + 4 slits optional). Slitter units are manually adjusted and cut can be set via the control panel. Paired with the optional Cutter Module, business cards, invitations, posters, and photos can be processed.
